Autumn in the country – images from our retreat

What a treat it was to once again escape to Foragers in Pemberton for our Autumn 2013 weekend retreat (especially as my parents were kind enough to look after our kids!)

Here’s a little taste of what was on offer…

Sophie and Chris Zalokar welcomed us with the wood-fired oven lit for our arrival late on Friday afternoon. To accompany our wine tasting, we were treated to spelt crust flat-bread style pizzas with delicious vege toppings like Maris Piper potato, broccoli and kale, plus an assortment of tasty condiments. Retreat to the country for fun, food & fitness

We’re super excited about our first retreat weekend for 2013!

It’s happening again at the exquisite Foragers, Pemberton in the Southern Forests region of WA, from the 10th-12th May (Mother’s Day weekend). You can find all the details on our Retreats page, and if you’d like to join us, get in touch quickly, as places are filling up. We’re especially delighted that several of our guests from last year had such a fabulous time that they’ve re-booked to come again – we think that says it all!

It’s probably timely to share some photos and insights from last year’s Spring Retreat – but don’t just take our word for it – have a peek at the deliciously foodie blog, Carolanne’s Kitchen for a review from one of our guests (she’s also kindly agreed to share some gorgeous pics of the weekend in this space, so thank you to Carolanne – currently cooking up a storm back in Ireland!)

Foragers – Pemberton

When planning our business, we envisaged being able to offer a series of special events including a weekend retreat, and we’re delighted to announce that it’s about to become a reality this spring…

When we say retreat, we’re not talking weight loss camp or gruelling military boot camp, or even spa weekend. What we had in mind was a relaxed gathering of like-minded people learning about and sharing in good food and wine – fresh, seasonal and locally sourced. Exercise would play a part, but mostly in combination with exploring the natural environment (so you don’t actually notice it) and to build a hearty appetite that makes good food taste even better! The idea is for guests to come away feeling energised and inspired to maintain that same feeling at home.

The Équilibre Bride

Its your special day

…and you want everything to be perfect. Much of the attention will inevitably be focused on you  – what you are wearing, how you look. There will be photographs and perhaps film to serve as lingering mementos of the day. It’s only natural that you want to do all that you can to look and feel your very best for your wedding day. But how far are you willing to go? Read the rest of this entry »

First comes love…

Aaaahhh…we love a good wedding at Équilibre and like to think that our own celebration (nearly 5 years ago, now) reflected our own individual tastes, love of great food and wine, as well as a touch of the homemade. That’s why we are so delighted to be involved in First Comes Love – an Alternative Bridal Fair, created by our talented and inspirational designer friends at Studio Bomba, taking place at the Oxford Hotel, Leederville on June 18 and 19.
