What’s your exercise personality?

Does this sound like you?

When it comes to exercising, we’ve worked out that people tend to fall in to a number of different categories. These are not based on your ability or what you actually do for exercise, but on how you behave and feel about it.

In other words, your exercise personality.

See if you can work out which one you fall in to…

A. THE COMMITTED ATHLETE

I always seek good advice and follow a structured program. I’m currently training for* my next half ironman triathlon (*insert your own challenging goal)

B. THE ALL OR NOTHING EXERCISER

I’m always enthusiastic when I start, cramming in multiple sessions and progressing very quickly. For me, it’s always ‘more is better’. UNTIL I get injured or burnt out and then I fall in a heap!

C. THE KNOW-IT-ALL EXERCISER

I spend too much time researching the perfect exercise routine and trying to work out what’s going to give me the best/quickest results and improve my time or performance. I’m also likely to have the latest fitness gadgets.

D. THE FRUSTRATED EXERCISER

I’ve tried many different types of exercise but haven’t really achieved the results or satisfaction i’m looking for. I often find it hard to stay motivated for long.

E. THE INSTINCTIVE EXERCISER

I enjoy exercising and have a routine that suits my personality. I listen to my body and recognise when I need a break or when I need to work a bit harder.

F. THE DISCOURAGED EXERCISER

I’m intimidated by gyms, shouty trainers and high intensity/over complicated workouts. I’ll often go out of my way to avoid exercise even though I know I need it.

G. THE COUCH POTATO

Exercise means punishment to me and I just don’t get why you would want to do it. You’re much more likely to find me on the couch watching netflix!

What’s YOUR personality? We’d love to know!

Pascal is a definite category A (no surprises there!)

Over the years, Nic has moved from a G to an F through to a ‘still developing’ E. You may also find that you’ve had different personalities during different stages of your life, too.

Can’t find your personality listed above? Have we missed one? Do tell us, so we can include it.

Is there a personality you’re keen to have, but haven’t got there… just yet?

Don’t worry, with a few tweaks and mindset shifts, we’re firm believers that your ‘personality’ can evolve over time – for the better.

Keep an eye out for our NEW Fitness for Foodies program coming this spring. It might just provide the motivation to change that you’re looking for!

P.S. Join us next week to work out your food personality!
